The Pavillion

I was so impressed that these two drove all the way from Albany for their snowy Syracuse engagement photos. I had emailed Kayla a few days before and mentioned that it looked like it was really going to snow that day. I wanted to be sure they were safe on the roads driving over. Being the hearty people that they are, she responded, “oh we’ll be fine. We drive in the snow all the time.”

The Trail

Hearty and active is exactly what these two are! They love to hike, camp, run, bike and everything in between!

In fact, they are so “outdoorsy” that their wedding will take place next fall at Thatcher State Park in Albany, NY!

Sam and Kayla actually met at a track meet where she asked Sam for some advice on running a certain race. After winning that heat of the race, they continued to chat and realized that Sam’s family lives in the same small town that Kayla is from. With those connections made, their relationship took off from there!

The Nature Center

This past summer, Sam proposed to Kayla at the top of a high peak which was so fitting for the two of them and what they love to do together!

And I loved this section of trees with the red berries hanging off them! It added a pop of color to match Sam’s sweater!

Their Fur Babies

Not only did they travel all the way from Albany, but they brought all three of their dogs with them! And may I add, their fur babies were very well behaved too! Just look at the way they sat and looked at the camera for me!

The Cabin

Towards the end of their session it really started to snow. It truly added a magical element to their snowy Syracuse engagement photos!

Just look at how much fun these two have together!

I was feeling badly about how cold it was and voiced that to Kayla and Sam. Kayla responded, “oh it’s fine! This is exactly what I had hoped for!” Yup, definitely hearty folk!

I had found a juniper tree to do some pictures of Kayla’s diamond engagement ring! The little blue berries on it were just so cute and added a little bit of a different color to their ring shots!

A warm love…

… and cozy hugs! I loved how their red and black hats perfectly matched the blanket they brought along! Towards the end of their session, that blanket was a welcome warmth!
