Welcome to Gabby and Shawn’s Turning Stone Lodge wedding blog post! As you can see from these details that you’re in for an elegant treat!
Bridal Getting Ready
I loved all the details that Gabby had ready for me to photograph… especially this sweet letter from Shawn along with these earrings that he gave her that she wore that day!
Gabby and Shawn had their Turning Stone Lodge wedding plans change so many times because of Covid and all the restrictions being changed so often but in the end everything turned out just as they had hoped! I love that they were able to use the Bridal Getting Ready room because it has so much natural light and the places to hang all the bridesmaids dresses are amazing!
Check out their wedding rings!
This sequence was hilarious! The bride and bridesmaids wanted to do a champagne toast but the top of the champagne bottle popped off before Gabby was ready, shattering the glass that was in her hand. Their expressions are so funny and it ended up that Gabby drank straight from the bottle itself!
Putting on the earrings Shawn gave her!
This gorgeous Kitty Chen dress is from Mirror Mirror Bridal in Baldwinsville! If you haven’t had a chance to read the blog post called No Stress Wedding Dress tips I wrote from a conversation I had with Stephanie from Mirror Mirror, be sure to check it out!
The Bride and her Bridesmaids
All the bridesmaids and her flower girl! The girl’s hair was done by the Glam Squad Syracuse, makeup by Andrea Scalisi Artistry and dresses were designed by Azazie.
Gabby and Shawn had looked into getting married at a different venue but one of the reasons they liked Turning Stone was because it had so much landscaping and color from the flowers and blossoms! The other venue didn’t have much landscaping which would have meant most of the background of their photos would have been just green from the trees and grass. But I found this spot with beautiful light right behind the the Lodge’s Great Lawn ceremony site with all these pink roses! It added so much color and matched the blush that the wedding party was wearing.
Gabby actually made these “flower rings” that the bridesmaids are holding. I thought they were so unique and pretty!
Another reason to hold a Turning Stone Lodge wedding… the gorgeous gardens!
The Groom & His Groomsmen
And here is Shawn, the Groom!
His groomsmen were hilarious!
There truly are so many great places to take pictures for a Turning Stone Lodge wedding. This one was taken right outside the Shenendoah Clubhouse where their reception was held!
Just like we always do, I hang out with the bridesmaids in the morning while Andrew hangs out with the groomsmen. I just love the pictures Andrew has been getting for me this year and these pictures of Shawn with his guys are no exception!
Turning Stone Lodge Wedding Ceremony on the Great Lawn
Gabby and Shawn held their Turning Stone Lodge wedding ceremony out on the Great Lawn. Don’t you just love the ring security detail? So adorable!
They had one of their friends officiate the ceremony which was really special!
This is one of my favorite shots to get at every wedding! When the officiant says, “may I introduce for the first time Mr. & Mrs.!” the expressions of the couple are always priceless! I love this one of Shawn and Gabby!
The Wedding Party
Here’s the whole wedding party behind the Lodge!
And check out this amazing bouquet by Joli at Turning Stone!
It was such a beautiful sunny day but it was also hot. I always feel badly for the groomsmen who usually have layer upon layer of clothing on. These guys were good sports about it though!
Bride & Groom
Just a stroll through the gardens!
The gorgeous Gabby! If you’ve checked out their engagement blog post you’ll know that Gabby and Shawn got engaged at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. I think she and Shawn looked like a Disney prince and princess that day!
This shot was taken by Andrew with his photo ninja skills!
I’m pretty sure that Gabby is a professional “wedding train swisher”! Is that a thing? Well, I think I just made it a thing! 😀
The Reception
Here are a few of the reception details and their wedding cake made by the Turning Stone!
Here they come into their reception! Let’s get this party started!
The Father Daughter and Mother Son dance. Watching Shawn and his mom dance actually made ME cry. Maybe my boys shouldn’t get married… I’d miss them too much. 🙂
Two other great vendors that made this day happen was Alek the videographer who owns Kammer Films and Brian Oddo, a super fun DJ with a great emcee personality!
There isn’t always a sunset on a wedding day but Gabby and Shawn got one!
Oh my goodness… what a fun dance party they had going on! From Gabby’s mom (top left), Shawn’s grandma (top right), the guests, the groomsmen and Gabby in her Kate Spade shoes, it was a hoot!
Happily Ever After
We even made sure to do a sparkler exit…
And a few more “Happily Ever After” night time shots!
Gabby and Shawn, we are so happy we were able to be there for you guys on your wedding day and be part of your celebration! Thanks so much for hanging with us through my pregnancy and due date that was pretty close to your wedding day! Congratulations!
And thank you to their friends and family that came by to check out their blog post! If you have any questions I’d love to hear from you!
Feel free to share this blog post around but please do not copy pictures or crop watermark out.
Stunning photos. I especially like the very last one!
We had so much fun with Gabby and Shawn, especially with this night time photos!
