Bridal Details & Bride Getting Ready
Hello there and welcome to Sarah and Mike’s castle wedding venue blog post! If I’m not mistaken, it seems to me that Belhurst Castle on Seneca Lake is one of Central New York’s most popular wedding venues!
Sarah’s desert rose, steel grey with hints of light blue wove seamlessly through her wedding day and details!
Check out these Badgley Mischka heels!!! WOW!
The flower girl and ring bearer’s parents gave Sarah and Mike this ring box, if I’m not mistaken. I just LOVED photographing it on top of the flower girl’s dress, actually made by the flower girl’s mom herself! So SO cute and floral!
The mums in this gorgeous bouquet arranged by In Bloom Florals was incredible!
And her Armani perfume!
Wedding dress designer is Olia Zavozina!
From the moment Sarah and I met, we really connected. One of the things I love so much about Sarah is her joyful spirit and ability to smile and laugh easily!

Sarah’s mom actually had a clutch purse made from her own wedding dress! Such a special gift!
Groom & Groomsmen
Here’s Mike… all ready to get married!
I joked with Sarah that they didn’t just have a Bridal Party, they had a Bridal ARMY! With 11 groomsmen and 9 bridesmaids, we all had a hoot together!
Bride & Groom First Look
The groomsmen thought it would be funny to play a prank on Mike, and so one of the Best Men threw a white sheet over his tux and came up behind Mike, who thought he was about to see Sarah. You should have seen his face when he realized it wasn’t Sarah! So in this moment below when he was ACTUALLY about to see Sarah, I wonder if he was extra nervous.
Perhaps all his nerves dissipated when he was actually face to face with his bride!
Right before this moment below, Sarah declared, “I am SO much less nervous now!” Score. Mission accomplished.
Bride & Groom Portraits
The week leading up to Sarah and Mike’s wedding, it had rained pretty much every day. I was SO thrilled for them that they had such a nice, sunny day at the end of September!
I just love Mike’s face in this photo!
Sarah chose her veil to specifically be nice and light so we could toss it and use it in photos! I love the shots we got with it!

If you get married at a castle wedding venue, you HAVE to get great shots with the castle in the background! This is one that Andrew took!
I love this series so much! Sarah and Mike are ADORABLE together!
Even during Sarah and Mike’s engagement session, I could totally tell how much fun these two have together!
After a handful of portraits following their First Look, we headed off to St. Stephen’s Church in Geneva, NY for their wedding ceremony!

I love that the ring bearer and flower girl were brother and sister!
Mike is just craning his neck to catch a glimpse of Sarah coming down the aisle!
Their exchange of wedding bands…
… and the kiss at the altar!
After Mike and Sarah were pronounced husband and wife… the look on both of their faces as they just stood there, grinning from ear to ear! THIS is why I shoot weddings and why I always feel so honored to be part of such intimate celebrations.
Wedding Party Photos
Here is Sarah, Mike and their “Bridal Army”! No but truly, I think a couple that has this many friends is blessed indeed.
Ah, I can’t help but post pictures of these adorable kiddos!
This is one of my favorite set ups to do for Bridal Parties because of what happens next…
Surprise group hug attack!

I love the way the sunshine catches Sarah’s wedding dress!
On over at Cocktail Hour, Karen, one of Belhurst’s staff, asked the Sarah and Mike if they’d like a drink. They both replied that they would, and Andrew offered to hold the tray of horderves until she got back. I loved this photo of him!
Reception Details and Wedding Cake
Inside this castle wedding venue’s ballroom… everything was all set up! I also loved Sarah and Mike’s guest book made by yours truly!
This wedding cake was made by Bagels and Cakes by Club 86 in Geneva, NY!

The toasts had us all in stitches!
I love this one of Sarah’s grandparents on the dance floor!
I have been so blessed by my friendship with Sarah throughout these past few years of wedding planning together! We have had so much fun talking! She told me the day before the wedding, “I feel like you’re basically bridesmaid at this point!” Ah girl, I’m so honored! At the end of our time shooting, she asked us if we’d stay a bit later for a drink and to dance! We had so much fun together!
We closed out their evening with a couple of night time shots!
Sarah and Mike, thank you so much for allowing Andrew and I to be a part of your day. Thank you also for the great chats, the fun and the friendship from you both! We love you guys lots! We’ll be praying for you both as you start this new chapter of your relationship together and can’t wait to see you in Florida someday soon!
