The Camps

What a cool thing it is to shoot an Adirondack engagement session in Old Forge NY! As I mentioned in my last blog post, sometimes I wish that I lived somewhere warmer… somewhere with palm trees and lots of sunshine, but then I’d miss out on the beauty of the changing seasons that NY has to offer. There’s just something about escaping to the mountains where time moves more slowly, nature abounds and the air smells fresher.

Brianna and Nate asked if they could do their Adirondack engagement session in Old Forge NY where Brianna’s family has had a camp for years! I just love the Adirondacks in the fall AND I love Brianna and Nate and was so happy to make the trip!

We started their session at Brianna’s aunt’s camp right on the Okara Lakes. This is where Nate actually proposed to Brianna… right on the dock where this picture was taken on!

I love it when we can pick a location for a couple’s engagement session that is meaningful to them!

As Brianna tells the story, the weekend after Thanksgiving last year her family was up in Old Forge and they were taking family pictures on the dock. It was right there and then that Nate asked Brianna if she’d marry him with the whole family watching! So special!

We also wanted to make sure that we got a few photos with their sweet dog! As you can tell, he was SO good for the photos!… looking right at the camera!

The scenery of Old Forge ALWAYS gets me like in the picture below on the left!

Can we please just acknowledge how cute Brianna’s boots are for a second?! I just love them!

Old Forge | The Covered Bridge

After we spent part of their Adirondack engagement session in Old Forge NY at their family camp, we went into town to finish their session. EVERY time I come to Old Forge, I check out that adorable covered bridge and think, “that would be an amazing spot for a photo session”! I am SO glad that Brianna and Nate were game to go down there for some photos!

And as you can see, the sunshine was so perfectly diffused that everything seemed so glowy and romantic!

And while foliage wasn’t exactly in peak season, there was still some gorgeous color in the trees! I particularly love the next few photos for that exact reason… all the fall color!

I totally love how these two got to laughing with each other in the next few photos below!

Brianna and Nate are highschool sweethearts and started dating in 10th grade!

As you can tell, they still have a lot of fun together!

Ok, for real, I think this is my favorite photo from their whole session! I love how they are looking at each other, I love the light and how it makes everything look golden!

Brianna and Nate are getting married next September up at Tailwater Lodge which will also have a “great outdoors” feel! I am so looking forward to it and can’t wait to continue to get to know these two better as their wedding date approaches!
