The Bride Getting Ready & Her Details

Welcome to Brendan and Kirstin’s NY castle wedding blog post! These two have been such troopers about having to postpone their wedding for a year. They had a beautiful, elaborate wedding planned at Belhurst Castle in 2020 but then Covid hit. They made the difficult decision to postpone for a year but what I was most surprised about is that they pulled off the exact same wedding in 2021 without downsizing or changing any of their plans!

I LOVEd their purple and silver color scheme!

Kirstin and her mom Britt did SO much of the planning for the wedding! Britt was there beside Kirstin every step of the way!

I’m aware there there are a handful of different ring shots in Kirstin and Brendan’s blog… but that’s because I loved them all too much to leave one out! I loved how this shot captured the detail on their rings AND their initials on their invitations!

Kirstin has such an infectious smile! I’m sure you couldn’t tell that from this picture! ;D

Here is her sweet Daddy Daughter First Look!

Bride & Bridesmaids Photos

Belhurst is SUCH a great choice if you want a NY castle wedding not only for the castle aspect but also the lake and the landscaping! We had such fun using all the flowers in the background of Kirstin’s portraits!

Here are her sweet bridesmaids!

The bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets were arranged by Rockcastle Florist out of Rochester!

Like I said, the landscaping and the flowers are spectacular!

The Groom Getting Ready & His Details

Here is Brendan and few of his details. Both Kirstin and Brendan love pokemon and so they made sure to include that in the tie bars and cuff links!

Groom & Groomsmen Photos

I REALLY loved these photos of Brendan and his mom that Andrew took, especially the one on the bottom! I hope someone gets a photo of me and my boy(s) like this on their wedding day!

The handsome groom himself!

I totally love this photo of Brendan and his groomsmen! They look like they’re having a PAR-TAY!

The Ceremony

The ceremony details were so special. A few chairs were set aside for the bride and groom’s grandparents who could not attend. I also loved the flower arrangement and their unity sand.

Kirstin and her dad

Kirstin was hoping that Brendan would cry as she walked down the aisle. Sorry to tell on you Brendan, but I’m pretty sure I saw some pretty sweet emotion when you caught your first glimpse of her in her wedding dress!

Giving the bride away… such a sweet exchange.

One really cool thing that Rebecca Schillenback of Full Circle Ceremonies did was to have both sets of parents stand to recognize their part in raising Kirstin and Brendan. Such a different and unique touch and so appropriate.

You may now kiss the bride!

These two are the CUTEST! I would just catch them randomly with their foreheads together… they truly love one another so much. Just wait for it when we get to the wedding party pictures.

The Wedding Party

One of the most important aspects of their NY castle wedding was to get photos down at the lake. In fact, the lake seems like as much of a “selling point” as the castle itself at Belhurs! At least that’s what I keep hearing from my couples!

See here!… in the second photo on the bottom. I was taking a bridal party picture and took a break to rearrange a few of the bridesmaids and groomsmen and I just caught Brendan and Kirstin with their foreheads together! Totally a candid moment!

Husband and wife!

We also worked with the amazing Justin Mayer of Mayer Video! I don’t know if he knows this or not but when couples ask him who I recommend as a videographer, Justin is at the top of my list!

Brendan and Kirstin actually met online and as the story goes, Kirstin wasn’t always super prompt at responding to Brendan’s emails. He figured things just may not work out but in the end, they had a handful of in person dates (one where Kirstin asked Brendan to take the Harry Potter Sorting Hat Quiz to find out which “House” he belonged to – bonus points in my book!) and the rest is history!

Totally made for each other!

They had so many amazing reception details! And because their beloved pets Romeo and Ash couldn’t attend, they wanted to make sure that they were represented well… not only with a couple of photos but…

… in their Signature Drinks as well!

These two even took some dance lessons!

The Father Daughter Dance…

And the Mother Son Dance!

This gorgeous cake was crafted by Michael Walsh with Rochester NY Wedding Cakes and was delicious!

Then it was time to PARTY! The DJ was John Roach and photo booth were both by Encore Events!

Because their wedding was held in June the sun set so late so these two opted to do a bubble exit which I loved!

Although for a NY castle wedding, we made sure to capture an epic sunset photo with the castle in the background! I just love how this one turned out!
