Welcome to Richard and Grace’s waterfall engagement pictures blog post from Chittenango Falls!
The Waterfalls
I was done booking more weddings for 2022. I was at capacity, I already had not only my year booked but also my October. And then I got Richard and Grace’s inquiry for October 1st. They said that Emily Netti had recommended me (LOVE her and her work btw!) and so I started considering chatting with them.
Before I even responded to their inquiry, I learned that we have several mutual friends and connections. We weren’t on our phone call for 5 minutes and I KNEW I wanted to work with them and hoped they felt the same!
As you can see, the feeling WAS mutual and I have been having a BLAST getting to know Richard and Grace!
Richard spent most of his life growing up in the Philippines as a missionary’s kid and Grace grew up in Ohio! When Richard moved back from the Philippines, he landed in Syracuse where his family is based and God brought Grace to Syracuse through an engineering job! Through being set up by friends at church, these two met!
Richard has the most epic story about their first kiss! He took Grace SKYDIVING and moments before they jumped out of the plane, he asked if she minded if he kissed her. He wanted that moment to be memorable (and it also helped with Grace’s “pre jumping jitters”)!
These two are literally so cute. Grace’s laughter is so contagious and Richard takes care of her so well!
As I do with all my couples, I asked Richard and Grace what their favorite locations were or what type of feel they’re going for their engagement pictures. Once I have their suggestions, I send them specific places for shooting. When I mentioned Chittenango Falls, these two jumped at it as it was one of their first date spots!
The other reason they wanted waterfall engagement pictures is because Richard proposed to Grace at Tinker Falls! I think that Richard is a romantic at heart because, as Grace tells it, “after dancing at the base of the waterfall, he put me in one last twirl and when I came around he was on one knee asking me to marry him. It was the perfect day with so many incredible moments that were thought out so so well.”
I’d say he did a great job with her engagement ring!

While chatting with these two during their waterfall engagement pictures, I learned that Grace and I have so much in common! Grace was also a competitive gymnast like I was and it totally shows in the way she moves when Richard spins her…
… or when he dip kisses her! Her form was perfect and I’d give her a 10.0!
Planning a wedding a wedding in 5 months from May to October is not for the faint of heart, but these two are doing an amazing job pulling it off. They make such a great team!
I just love this one! You can see how much Grace adores Richard!
I am literally so excited for Grace and Richard’s wedding on October 1st! What a blessing they’ve been to me already and Andrew and I look forward to getting to know them even better in the coming months!
