Buffalo Canalside Wedding | Chris & Sarah

Welcome to Chris and Sarah’s Buffalo Canalside wedding blog post!  I am so glad you’re here to check out their pictures and celebrate with them!

Bride Getting Ready – Buffalo Marriott Lecom Harborcenter

It’s always a nice treat to be able to hit the road, get out of town and travel to someplace new to shoot a wedding!

Chris wrote Sarah a super sweet note for her to open the morning of their wedding.

Both Sarah and Chris got ready at the Buffalo Marriott at Lecom Harborcenter right next to Canalside which was central to Canalside and Niagara Square (where we did portraits) and Pearl Street Grill and Brewery (where their wedding ceremony and reception was held!)

Groom Getting Ready & Portraits – Buffalo Canalside

After Chris was dressed and ready, Andrew took him down to the canalside waterfront for portraits and I just loved them!

Last minute, Sarah and Chris decided to change the ties that the groom and groomsmen were wearing and I loved their new selection!

The First Look – Buffalo Marriott Lecom Harborcenter

We wanted to find a spot closeby for Sarah and Chris’ First Look. I found this small student garden just across the street from the Buffalo Marriott Lecom Harborcenter! The sunflowers were a total bonus… and when I saw it, I knew it would be a gorgeous spot for the First Look!

I wanted to take advantage of doing a few portraits here once Sarah and Chris had seen each other. This is one of my very favorites from the whole day!

This old brick road made the perfect spot for a quick portrait for their Buffalo Canalside wedding pictures!

Niagara Square

After their First Look outside of the Buffalo Marriott Lecom Harborcenter hotel, we drove down to Niagara Square for some portraits. Oh my gosh, the sunshine and reflections were SO good in this spot for portraits! Besides, the white of the obelisk and fountain made the perfect backdrop for wedding pictures!

We had many locations in mind for portraits, one of them being Buffalo City Hall. We didn’t have time to hit them all but we did get City Hall in the background of this one photo below on the left. Such a great picture by Andrew!

These two are the cutest together and I just loved the braid in Sarah’s hair!

This other photo below is also Andrew’s… beautifully framed in by the landscaping around Niagara Square! I love having Andrew second shoot with me at weddings because he can be in a totally different place to capture photos from a different angle, giving the couple’s gallery a visual variety.

The joy on Sarah’s face!

She did such a good job selecting the details for her ensemble … the dress, her bouquet, and even the necklace that her parents gave her the night before the wedding.

The Wedding Party – Buffalo Canalside

After our trip to Niagara Square, we headed back to Buffalo Canalside for the wedding party photos!

This gang was so much fun!

The weather was sunny and 75… totally perfect wedding weather (unless you were wearing a suit like Chris and his groomsmen… then it was a little warm). 😉

The Boardwalk on Canalside also gave such a nautical feel to their wedding photos.

Sneak attack the bride and groom! So much fun!

The Bridesmaids

I loved the sage green that Sarah chose for her bridesmaids to wear! Fun fact, sage is the color that my sister chose for her bridesmaids as well!

This is DEFINITELY my favorite shot of the bridesmaids!… everything about how they look and the background of the photo is so fun!

The Groomsmen

All so handsome… AND when you have an even number of groomsmen, this shot, “The Flying V” as we call it, is even on both sides! Win win!

Just before we left the Boardwalk, we did a few more photos of just Chris and Sarah!

This is also one of my favorites… because again, I just love a nautical feel. So with the battleship in the background, the Boat Tours sign on the kiosk and the boardwalk, it just makes for an interesting background I think!

The Bridge – at Canalside

We had six minutes left in our timeline in which to get portraits and make it down to the ceremony site. I knew Sarah really wanted to do a few pictures on the bridge here right by canalside. I find the public is often so sweet when they see a bride and groom. It was a beautiful Saturday and there were scads of people on and around Buffalo’s Canalside and on this bridge but when they saw us, they cleared out so we could get a few photos! I know I keep saying this but these are also some of my favorites of Chris and Sarah!

Wedding Ceremony – Pearl Street Grill & Brewery

Their wedding ceremony was held on the third floor of the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery!

You may now kiss the bride!

The Reception – Pearl Street Grill and Brewery

The details throughout the whole reception space were impeccable!

I loved this hilarious entrance by Chris and Sarah!

I always enjoy hearing the speeches from family members and close friends. I feel like I get to know my couple better!

The First Dance

The arches at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery were just so much fun to use for framing in the background! Coupled with the twinkle lights (also something I love) was just magical!

The Party!

I have to say, I am old fashioned and really value wisdom that comes from life experience. So when a couple chooses to do an anniversary dance to determine which husband and wife in attendance has been married the longest, I just love it. If I’m not mistaken, all three grandparents of Sarah and Chris had been married at least 60 years! That’s incredible. And!… Sarah’s grandpa even asked ME if I’d like to dance with him! I had so much fun and was honored. 🙂

Night Time Photos

Just across the street from Pearl Street Grill and Brewery was a cute plaza all lit up with lights! It was the PERFECT place for some night time photos… something we always love to get for our couples. I was so glad these two were game to leave the dance floor for a few minutes to get these!

Sarah and Chris, thank you SO much for allowing Andrew and I to be a part of your day! Your day really was magical and we are so happy for you both! As I type this, I’m thinking of you and all the adventures I hope you’re having on your honeymoon! To the new Mr. and Mrs.!
