Welcome to Lindsey and Kyle’s upstate NY barn wedding blog post! I cannot even tell you how beautiful the day was! For a Saturday in mid August, the weather was about 70 and partly sunny… totally perfect for a barn wedding! Everyone knows how hot it can get inside a hay barn in the middle of the summer! But rather than continue to try to describe it with my words, let me just show you some pictures from their gorgeous wedding day!
Lindsey wore the most AWESOME cowgirl boots I have EVER seen!
Lindsey’s grew up on her family’s farm, just next door to her grandparent’s house. So she and her bridesmaids got ready at her grandma’s house which worked great for being close to their wedding venue!
One of the things Lindsey really loves is sunflowers and so she incorporated them into everything that she could! Her cascading bouquet by Bonnie’s Custom Creations in Elbridge is absolutely gorgeous!
This has got to be one of my very favorite pictures of the whole day! The breeze was definitely blowing which made it interesting for keeping hair out of the bride’s face but also was perfect for adding some life to her wedding veil!
The bridesmaids were so fun to be with all day! Lindsey asked her sister to be the Maid of Honor, her best friend from high school, her girl friend that introduced Lindsey and Kyle and her two nieces to stand up with her that day!
This flower girl!… oh my heart!
Kyle and his groomsmen were definitely a hoot!… so much fun! Andrew first got photos of them over at their reception venue, Owen Orchards, and then they headed across the street to the barn for a few more pictures!
Then it was time to head up the road in the hay wagon to the barn for their wedding ceremony! Now their barn isn’t a wedding venue, but it certainly was representative of barns in Upstate NY!
Lindsey’s dad had us all laughing as the pastor asked, “Who gives this bride to be married?” There was a pregnant silence while her dad pulled a notecard out of his back pocket, paused, and then announced loudly, “I DO!”
Their first kiss at the altar as husband and wife! I also LOVE the way she decorated her trellis with sunflowers!
We made sure to do all the family pictures right after the wedding ceremony so we didn’t have to go find them at Cocktail Hour and then headed off to get pictures with the full bridal party!
And all I keep thinking when I see these pictures is that country song, “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”!
The wildflowers growing in the fields around the barn made for the perfect backdrop!
I think I should title this picture, “Goofing Off”. I think that wedding photos should be timeless and romantic BUT I also think that they should also showcase other aspects of marriage, like friendship and laughter. This photo also fits in my top ten favorite from their wedding day!
I love the different eye and creativity that Andrew brings to Team Hawkins! This one was his idea to give variety to Lindsey and Kyle’s gallery… a GQ type pose!
Across the street at Owen Orchard they had all the country fixin’s!
And pa-lease check out this amazing cake made by Kyle’s aunt!

Their First Dance as husband and wife
Speeches by the Best Man and Maid of Honor!
I love these dancing pictures! Waaay too much fun!
On their way over from the barn to the orchard, Lindsey spotted a few sunflowers and asked if we could do a few “golden hour” photos. I am SO glad she did!
