As a senior photographer in Syracuse, I am so excited to welcome you to Ciara’s blog post! Ciara will be a senior at Liverpool High and graduate Spring of 2020! Years ago, I had done senior pictures for her brother Jordan and was so honored that their mom reached out to me again to do Ciara’s pictures.
I always send my seniors a questionnaire to help me, as their photographer, get to know them a bit. This helps me greatly to know how to best capture their unique personalities. So when I asked Ciara how she likes to spend an idea Saturday, she said, “In a small cafe outside, drinking my coffee and reading a classic book or exploring new places around the world.” I also asked if she prefers a country or an urban setting for her pictures. Her answer was, “I’d love to be in a more quant, natural setting. I love vintage, historical aesthetics and architecture. I also love sunsets and “golden hour”.” In all my years as a senior photographer in Syracuse, I don’t think I’ve ever had someone know their style or what they were looking for as much as Ciara did! So I began to think of all the places I’ve photographed and see if I could come up with a spot in the Syracuse area that was quaint, vintage, had a cafe or cobblestone streets. I didn’t have to look any further than the village of Skaneateles and the Patisserie bakery and cafe that is just behind the Sherwood Inn! I could describe the setting to you but really, I should just show you the pictures!
After we had a done a handful of pictures at the Patisserie, we did a few more over by the Sherwood! We may not have had cobblestone but the old brick definitely added a historical feel to her senior pictures!
I had also asked Ciara what types of things she enjoyed doing and she had mentioned she wanted to remember her intensive participation in music during this part of her life.
When we had finished shooting near the Sherwood, we went across the street and over to Clift Park!
Her love for fashion and styling of outfits really came out these pictures! She loves a minimalistic look, wearing mostly greys, blacks and whites but pairing them creatively is one of her favorite things to do!
I’m always glad to know my senior’s favorite features about themselves, and in Ciara’s case, it is her eyes. Her olive colored shirt really brought them out!
Good luck in your senior year Ciara! I know you’ll rock it, just like you did your senior pictures!
