Bride Getting Ready
Thank you for joining me here for Sam and Kayla’s state park wedding pictures blog post! I love the top line of their wedding invitation, “Please join us in the mountains for the wedding of Kayla and Sam”! Just wait until you see the scenery!
Kayla’s mom and sister helped her get ready at a nearby hotel!
I loved the pine trees and their color so much that I knew I had to get a ring shot with them!
Just check out Kayla’s amazing hairstyle by Gabrielle Donadio of Premium Hair Lounge and her beautiful necklace!
Groom Getting Ready
Here’s Sam getting ready at his and Kayla’s home! These were captured by my amazing second shooter Bee owner of Bridget Caitlin Photography!
Sam and Kayla truly consider their three dogs, Rue, Prim and Koda to be part of the family. The picture below on the left shows Koda’s “tux” and Rue and Prim’s flower wreaths!
First Look
Before these two had their First Look they exchanged letters!
As Sam turned around Kayla asked, “was it what you expected?” Sam breathed just one word… “better!”
“Guess what?!” exclaimed Kayla, “we’re getting married today!!!!!”
Bride & Groom Portraits before State Park Wedding
After their First Look, we headed over to do their state park wedding pictures! And goodness! The view and scenery was just AMAZING not to mention how perfect these two are together!
I just love all of these photos we were able to get with the amazing backgrounds. The photo below doesn’t have the scenery but gosh, I think it’s also one of my top favorites for different reasons! I think it looks like they could have gotten married at a castle in Scotland!
And while perhaps a con of Kayla and Sam holding their wedding at a state park was all the extra leg work they had to do themselves, hopefully they feel like the location and views were worth it!
Kayla chose Sam’s pinstriped shirt and it looked SO sharp! Great choice!
The Ceremony
Here are their dogs patiently waiting for the state park wedding ceremony! Aren’t they so adorable?!
But don’t forget Little Miss H, their daughter! Two years ago Sam and Kayla chose their wedding date. Exactly one year to the day before their wedding, they brought their sweet little girl into the world! So maybe I should have introduced her as the birthday girl celebrating her 1st birthday!
I think it would be an understatement to comment on how well behaved their dogs were! Koda actually carried the ring box in his mouth down the aisle!
The Best Man, Maid of Honor, and their “Fur Flower Girls and Ring Bearer!”
Such a good boy!
Kayla rode down to the ceremony on her grandpa’s bike!
Here’s Kayla’s mom, Little Miss H and Sam awaiting the bride!
No flowers for the bride’s hands just their sweet little girl!
Family Photos after State Park Wedding
While Little Miss H was happy I suggested we do a very quick “family mini shoot”! The adult members of the family could definitely wait patiently while we got a few sweet photos with the 1 year old birthday girl!
The whole family together!
Wedding Party Photos
A small wedding party makes everything simple!
Bonus | Bride and Groom Pictures
We not only budgeted lots of time before the state park wedding ceremony for their bride and groom portraits but a bit of time afterwards as well since we were in a different location in the park.
This pose was set up by Bee… and I loved it!
State Park Wedding Reception
We were so thankful that the rain held off all day. It wasn’t until after dinner that it started to sprinkle a bit.
This was one of the coolest things they had at their reception… Craft on Wheels, a vintage mobile bar!
Here they come into their reception!
An epic entrance with a spin and a dip kiss!
The First Dance
Mother Son and Father Daughter Dance
Speeches
Fun girlfriend shots!
Adam with Advent Entertainment was our DJ for the evening’s festivities!
And this AMAZING Cookie House by Black Sheep Honey Bakery that made freshly baked (read warm and gooey) chocolate chip cookies!!! Kayla doesn’t like cake so Sam suggested they do cookies instead!
Kayla and Sam, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day and celebrate with you! I so enjoyed my day with you both in the mountains and wish you and your sweet family lots of love and laughter through the years that come!
And thank YOU for coming by to check out their state park wedding blog post! If you’d like to see more of my wedding work check it out on the blog or send me an email here!
Feel free to share this blog post around but please do not copy pictures or crop watermark out.
