Welcome to Jenny and Bryan’s downtown Syracuse wedding pictures blog post!
Wedding Details
I just love that Jenny had these pretty details ready for me to photograph when I got to the bridal suite at the Courtyard Marriott in Armory Square in downtown Syracuse!
As you can see from their invitation, Jenny and Bryan’s mid October wedding was supposed to be held at Franklin Square Park. But early the morning of the wedding while I was still in bed, my phone went off with a tornado warning and instruction to find shelter immediately in the interior or basement of our home. Oh my goodness! Thankfully the tornado warning passed but the rain did not.
The rain held steady throughout the day so we had to get creative with our portrait locations!
Bride Getting Ready at the Courtyard Marriott Armory Square Syracuse
Jenny booked a suite at the Courtyard Marriott in Armory Square in downtown Syracuse and I found it to have a lot of room with a big window!
Just look at the lace detail on Jenny’s dress and long train! SO gorgeous!
I don’t always edit in black and white but I just LOVE this one without color!
The necklace Jenny’s dad gifted to her… so sweet!
Her fingertip length veil allowed me to be more creative for her portraits!
Groom Getting Ready at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Syracuse
Meet Bryan, the groom himself!
The First Look
Because of the rain and the cooler temperatures, I figured Jenny’s suite was the perfect place for their First Look! Private, dry and warm… I was so thankful that their room had extra space for their pictures!
Bride and Groom Portraits Inside
Jenny’s long curls paired with her long train… STUNNING!
Jenny, Bryan and I had actually planned to do their First Look at Franklin Square Park along with a few portraits there. Then we were going to go to Inner Harbor and do more portraits with them their and with their bridal party.
But when it became clear that it was going to rain all day, Jenny and her amazing wedding coordinator Beth Utano of Utano Event and Wedding Planning changed their ceremony location inside. Jenny and I also decided that going outside for portraits wasn’t a great idea either.
We called an audible about an hour before our coverage was supposed to start and came up with a plan B. After looking around the hotel lobby and realizing that the colors were red, gold and black and the natural light wasn’t great there, we decided that their suite was a good place to start for portraits!
I love that we could get these full length shots of Jenny’s AMAZING wedding dress by Kitty Chen!
I’d love for you to see some behind the scenes on how we got these shots! Check them out here on my Instagram!
Again, this veil!!!
Bride and Groom Portraits Outside
The second “audible” location that I found for portraits was this large porte cochère that provided us natural light while keeping us dry from the rain! So perfect!
I just love these detail shots that Andrew captured while I was shooting the portraits!
I knew I had to get an epic walking shot like this to showcase Jenny’s dress!
The “floating veil” shot is always one of my favorites!
Once we got portraits of Jenny and Bryan, I did a few more portraits of Jenny and her bridesmaids (her sisters!) and Andrew did a few more of Bryan and his groomsmen (his brother!)
The Bridal Party
I loved these wine colored bridesmaids dresses by Azazie because not only did it have gorgeous lace on the bodice but also on the back, making it look almost like a bustle or a train!
The Ceremony
The morning of the wedding, Jenny and Beth (her planner) moved the ceremony indoors to the Dinosaur BBQ where their reception was to be held. They added some chairs to create an aisle, moved the arch indoors and viola, Jenny and Bryan had a dry spot to get married!
The Reception
The sign at their Sweetheart Table!
Their First Dance!
The Father Daughter and Mother Son Dance…
…and speeches! Laughs all around!
I love it when the grandparents and family members get out on the dance floor! Celebrate good times, come on!
Jenny and Bryan, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day! We wish you lots of fun and relaxation on your honeymoon and the best marriage!
