Classy, whimsical and joyful… those are three words I’d use to describe Amanda and Brian’s Springside Inn Auburn NY wedding! The day was just SO perfect! I can’t wait for you to dive into the memories from their day.
Bridal Getting Ready
Amanda’s details were so well coordinated, from her bouquet, to the invitation, the rings… it all worked together so well!
The joy on Amanda’s face was just so contagious! These next three photos below were taken by Marlies Guest Photography, who sweetly agreed to third shoot with us on a day’s notice! (More on that story later!)
Makeup was done by the very talented Riki Lebied of Syracuse Makeup Artistry! If you’re looking for a makeup lady that nails it EVERY time, call Riki! But don’t wait too long… she books up fast!
All of the festivities for the day were held at the Springside Inn Auburn NY wedding venue and we found THE PERFECT room with an amazing amount of light for Amanda to get dressed in and have a few stunning portraits taken!
Father Daughter First Look
Poor Amanda was SO nervous before her First Look with her dad… and her groom but you can just see the tension melt off her face once she saw her dad! Their exchange is just so sweet!
And check out this beautiful bouquet… actually arranged by Amanda’s bridesmaids!
Groom Getting Ready
And here is Brian, the groom! His details were EXTRA special with a bracelet Amanda had given him years ago, a tie bar clip she’d had made and cuff links with his initials in a “James Bond font”!
Bride and Groom First Look
Fair warning… try not to cry as you look at these photos of Amanda and Brian’s First Look.
Bride and Groom Portraits
The way that Amanda and Brian treat each other and interact together was nothing short of loving, respectful and oh so romantic. I almost felt badly for “interrupting them” to give them direction on posing, they just couldn’t keep their eyes off each other!
Also, can I just say how much I LOVE Amanda’s flower crown?! I think that’s one thing that gave this wedding a whimsical, floral, garden, even a woodsy feel.
I actually asked Andrew what word he’d use to describe Amanda and Brian’s Springside Inn Auburn NY wedding and he replied, “They were so in love, so into each other. As cliche as it might sound, I’d use the word “romantic” to describe their day.” I couldn’t agree more!
This epic photo is by Andrew who actually took this one from across the road!
Originally Amanda and Brian had planned their wedding to be held at Arrowhead Lodge because they loved the trees and the woodsy feel there. So when I saw this pine tree and the taller grass I knew I wanted to take a few photos there!
But in the end, after they had switched to Springside Inn Auburn NY wedding venue, she told me that Springside was actually her first choice. I’m so glad it all worked out!
When I saw the white blossoms on this tree I just KNEW we had to do a few photos in front of it! These are also some of my favorite portraits from the day. Ok, ok, let’s be honest… they’re all my favorites!
Bridal Party Portraits
Here’s the whole bridal party! Don’t you just love the different yet coordinating colors of the bridesmaid’s dresses?!
Such a sweet group of ladies, though that wasn’t surprising as Amanda is so sweet herself!
Still just loving these bouquets… especially with the pop of blue!
The groomsmen… all into James Bond. I loved it!
If you’re looking for a little romantic dinner off the beaten path and haven’t considered Springside Inn’s Oak and Vine restaurant, you need to check it out!
A Surprise Three Day Old Intern
So the story with calling in a third photographer with a day’s notice goes like this. I was supposed to be 37 weeks pregnant at Amanda and Brian’s wedding. But… our little Kiwi girl (what we had nicknamed her during my pregnancy) decided to arrive at 36 weeks and 5 days, on Wednesday morning. Just three short days of Amanda and Brian’s wedding. I felt up to photographing the wedding as opposed to sending Andrew and a second photographer in my stead, but I knew I needed an extra camera and pair of hands that day as backup for myself when I needed to step out and nurse Kiwi. Marlies Guest was SO sweet to agree to shoot with us when she received my desperate email asking for help! So we arrived at the wedding, Andrew, Kiwi and I as well as Marlies and had a grand old time celebrating with Amanda, Brian and their friends and family!
And a few iPhone photos to add… because I couldn’t help myself!
Springside Inn Wedding Ceremony
All happy tears at their wedding ceremony held at Springside’s wooded area in the back called The Grove.
One of the professors from Amanda’s college officiated the ceremony and brought along his typewriter from college to illustrate a point. Such a good touch!
Don’t forget to exchange rings! 😉
The Kiss!
I imagine that touch meant something like, “love you mom”.
I loved this photo that Andrew took! You can actually see the yellow flower petals in the air that the guests were throwing!
Amanda’s bustle had something like 15 buttons! It took a crowd to put it up but once it was up, it looked amazing!
Springside Inn Wedding Reception
Here are a few of the reception details… the sweetheart table, the wedding cake and the bride and groom’s place cards! Christine and her staff at the Springside did an amazing job (as usual) coordinating the whole wedding day and reception!
Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs.!
Their First Dance as husband and wife…
An epic dip…
Followed by the Father Daughter and Mother Son dance!
And speeches!
One of the guests gave Amanda and Brian a piece of artwork! Such a sweet and thoughtful gift!
Brian’s grandparents “won” the longest married couple award during the Anniversary Dance and I loved that Amanda danced with Brian’s grandpa while Brian danced with his grandma! I was so excited that we caught the exchange (top right corner photo) where Grandpa proposed a “switch”!
The cake cutting! All the guests got Glazed and Confused Donuts for their dessert! If you’ve never had one, PLEASE go check them out. They’re my FAVORITE dessert donut EVER!
And a Happily Ever After shot to close out the night! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day Amanda and Brian! You two were surely made for each other! Congratulations!
Thank you so much for swinging by Amanda and Brian’s blog post! If you’d like to see more of our wedding work, check it out here or leave me message here! I’d love to hear from you!
