A Spring Wedding at Whitewood Ranch in DeLeon Springs

Emma and Josh’s Whitewood Ranch wedding in DeLeon Springs, Florida was the kind of day that simply radiated joy from beginning to end. Early March in Central Florida is such a beautiful time for a wedding. The weather was warm and sunny, and the trees around the property were just beginning to bud with fresh spring leaves.

From the moment I arrived that morning, Emma’s excitement was impossible to miss. Every time she turned around she had the biggest smile on her face and more than once she did a full body smile, shoulders, head and all. She was just so genuinely happy to be marrying Josh.

During the bridesmaids’ first look, the moment Emma walked into the room, tears immediately filled their eyes. It was such a sweet reflection of the friendships surrounding her… and how excited everyone was for this day.

Her bridesmaids wore soft pastel yellow dresses while the groomsmen wore classic navy suits, creating a light and cheerful color palette that felt perfect for a spring wedding. Emma’s gown featured beautiful lace detailing and was paired with a stunning cathedral-length veil that flowed behind her in the most breathtaking way.

Bridal Portraits in Esme Lane Chapel at Whitewood Ranch

We photographed Emma’s bridal portraits and her bridesmaids in Esme Lane Chapel at Whitewood Ranch, the venue’s beautiful open-air ceremony space. The chapel features tall arched windows and soft natural light that fills the space throughout the day. It’s literally a photographer’s dream to photograph in here and one of the reasons ceremonies and portraits here photograph so beautifully… the light is bright, even, and peaceful and the background is clean, minimal and neutral.

Josh and his groomsmen were getting ready nearby at Whitewood Ranch. The atmosphere on his side of the morning felt calm and steady — a quiet anticipation for the moment he had been looking forward to for so long. As he buttoned his navy suit jacket and prepared for the day ahead, you could see both excitement and deep intention in the way he carried himself.

Josh had prayed for his future wife long before he ever met Emma, and that desire to build a God-centered marriage was evident throughout the entire day. Before the ceremony began, he even took a few quiet moments alone in the chapel to pray — a powerful reminder that for him, this day was about far more than just a beautiful wedding. It was the beginning of the marriage he had faithfully hoped and prayed for.

The Open-Air Ceremony at Esme Lane Chapel

Emma and Josh chose to exchange their vows in Esme Lane Chapel at Whitewood Ranch, which as I mentioned, provides such clean, even bright light.

Before the ceremony began, guests were welcomed with worship music playing softly as they found their seats inside the chapel. The atmosphere felt calm and meaningful, setting the tone for the ceremony ahead.

Emma and Josh had written their own vows, and they were incredibly heartfelt — full of sincerity, faith, and gratitude for the way God had brought them together. Throughout the day, friends and family continued sharing how proud they were of the couple for putting the Lord first in their relationship.

Cocktail Hour in the Esme Lane Chapel Atrium

After the ceremony, guests transitioned into cocktail hour in the Esme Lane Chapel atrium, located just beside the ceremony space.

This area provides a relaxed and beautiful setting for guests to mingle while the couple takes portraits around the property. The atrium’s checkered floors and glass tables create an elevated but comfortable atmosphere where guests can gather, chat, and celebrate.

Meanwhile, Emma and Josh stepped away for portraits with their wedding party and some quiet moments together as newlyweds.

Golden Hour Wedding Portraits at Whitewood Ranch

One of the things couples love most about a Whitewood Ranch wedding is the variety of beautiful portrait locations throughout the property. We began on the back deck of The Grand Verre, surrounded by the peaceful wooded area and the natural beauty that makes this venue so special.

After capturing some bridal party portraits, we headed out to the open lawn and wooded areas just as the sun began to set. The golden evening light wrapping around Emma and Josh created the most magical glow.

Emma’s cathedral-length veil and lace train were absolutely stunning in the golden light. As the sun dipped lower behind the trees, the light created a soft backlit halo around them that made every moment feel even more romantic.

Even though we were a little tight on time, Emma and Josh were so relaxed and easygoing the entire time. Every suggestion we made was met with a smile and a cheerful, “Yeah, let’s do it!”

Those golden hour portraits ended up being some of the most beautiful moments of the day.

The Grand Verre Reception Hall at Whitewood Ranch

Following portraits, the celebration moved into the Grand Verre glasshouse reception hall at Whitewood Ranch, where more than 160 of Emma and Josh’s family and friends gathered to celebrate.

The reception began with Emma and Josh’s first dance, followed by three meaningful parent dances before dinner was serve

The speeches that followed were some of the most memorable parts of the evening. Josh’s best man shared a story about how their friendship had grown through starting a Bible study together. During one of their prayer times, Josh had shared a prayer request asking God to send him a wife because he had such a deep desire to be married.

Just two weeks later, he came to his friend excitedly talking about a girl he had met named Emma.

Moments like that made it clear how much intention and prayer had gone into the relationship long before the wedding day arrived.

Once the dance floor opened, the energy in the room instantly picked up. Chris Cummings of L’amour Weddings and Events kept the celebration going all night long with music that had guests filling the dance floor from the very first song.

A Sparkler Exit at Whitewood Ranch

To end the night, Emma and Josh celebrated with an epic sparkler exit at Whitewood Ranch.

Before they ran through the glowing tunnel of sparklers, we snuck away for a few final nighttime portraits in front of the chapel. The soft glow of the lights around the chapel created such a romantic backdrop and was the perfect way to end the evening.

Then guests lined the walkway with sparklers as Emma and Josh ran through together, surrounded by cheers from all of their friends and family.
