Getting Ready | Sherwood Inn | Skaneateles, NY

Our first of the season!… Amanda and Dan’s Lodge Skaneateles wedding happened just this past weekend! It was a beautiful, relaxed day where everything seemed to fall into place for the bride and the groom. Both Amanda and Dan got ready at The Sherwood Inn in downtown Skaneateles, NY. After making sure that Dan was up in his room, we took the dress downstairs for a quick wedding dress picture!

Just look at these gorgeous details of Amanda’s! I especially love her exquisite shoes. The other thing that “leveled up” these photos, in my opinion, were the flower petals and leaves. This was thanks to my good friend Courtney of Crown Coordination who served as the coordinator for the day! She saved a few roses out for me at the beginning of the day to use in my flat lay and detail shots. It added an extra pop of color and tied everything together with Amanda’s color scheme!

The First Look | Veteran’s Memorial Park, Skaneateles

Amanda requested that we do the First Look and a few portraits across the street from the Sherwood Inn at Veteran’s Memorial Park right on Skaneateles Lake as it holds special memories of her Grandpa. Here’s Dan all ready to see his bride!

I love this shot Andrew got of Dan with Skaneateles Lake as a backdrop!

I love the excitement and emotion of the First Look as well as the eased nerves once they’ve seen each other.

They each had vows they wanted to say to each other but preferred to keep them discreet. I loved that they could share their hearts with one another in a quiet setting without a hundred onlookers.

Bride & Groom Portraits

Isn’t Amanda’s Stella York wedding dress gorgeous?

Amanda’s hair and makeup was also done by Innovations Salon and Spa in Liverpool! Rachel, Olivia and Lexi all did an amazing job on Amanda and her bridesmaids!

These two are so sweet! They traveled here from Texas to get married amongst their friends and family!

I really love the story of how Amanda and Dan ended up together. It so happens that Amanda’s best friend Katie, is Dan’s younger sister. Even though Katie and Amanda were friends, I don’t believe Amanda and Dan crossed paths very often. Years later, Dan ended up moving to Dallas for work. One work meeting took Amanda to Dallas and when she mentioned this to Katie, she suggested that Dan show Amanda around the city! That was the evening that sparked something amazing… and the rest is history!

After a few portraits down at Skaneateles Lake, we headed back to the Sherwood Inn where our cars were parked. From there we headed to the church for the ceremony!

The Ceremony | St. Mary’s Church, Skaneateles, NY

Amanda and Dan’s ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Church.

I just can’t get over the look of joy not only on both Amanda and her mom’s faces, but their friends and family as she walked down the aisle! This is another one of my favorites from their day!

The priest asked both Amanda and Dan to write a letter to him answering a few questions about why they wanted to get married, why they were choosing this time to tie the knot, etc. He read portions of each of their letters which made their ceremony so personal and sweet. I loved it!

Wedding Party Photos

The Lodge in Skaneateles is one of our favorite wedding venues to shoot at! We took the bridal party out before the cocktail hour and reception began and had a great time getting more photos!

Ah! This veil shot! Ok, if I say this is also a favorite, you’ll tell me I have too many from the day… and you’d be right!

This awesome, adventurous bridal party were willing to climb up on the rocks and into the landscaping for me. I’m telling you, they were amazing!!!

The Lodge, their pond and the timbers of Lodge’s structure made the perfect backdrop for the bridesmaid’s shots!

The bridesmaid’s dresses were from Azazie and I thought they were so pretty! I might be biased though, dusty rose is one of my favorite colors!

This shot!… Andrew helped me with the veil for this one but…

… one of Amanda’s bridesmaids helped me with a few other veil shots including the one below. I tell you, Amanda and Dan’s friends were willing to help them with whatever they needed that day!

The Reception | The Lodge | Skaneateles, NY

I just loved the florals and details of this wedding reception!

This wedding cake was done by Cakes by Michele. The thing that made it even more special is that Michele is Dan’s aunt!

Their First Dance was beautifully choreographed!

Here’s Katie, Dan’s sister and Amanda’s best friend!… the one responsible for coordinating their meet up in Dallas!

Later in the evening, we stole Amanda and Dan for a few night time shots! I call these the “Happily Ever After photos”!
