When Marcin and Melissa booked me last Thanksgiving to shoot their wedding this summer, they mentioned that they'd like to wait until spring time to have their engagement pictures taken... and I'm SO glad they did! Marcin proposed to Melissa at Highland Park in Rochester, NY and it holds a special place in both their hearts for that reason. So when we started planning the location for their session they had asked if I'd be willing to drive from Syracuse to Rochester to shoot there. After lining up a babysitter for my two "Littles", I said, "Sure! Road trips are great! Let's do this!"
Even though we scheduled their session at the very beginning of Highland Park's Lilac Festival, they hadn't quite started to bloom yet. But the magnolia trees were absolutely gorgeous! I think we hit the jackpot there!
We were also able to not only dodge the rain drops of the past weeks but we actually got sunshine for their pictures!
The other thing that was out in full bloom were the tulips!
Their eskimo kisses are the best... and I'd love to know what Melissa said to put such a smile on Marcin's face!
There were so many great places around Highland Park to take pictures, one of which was in front of the Lamberton Conservatory! The interesting architecture made the perfect backdrop for a dramatic photo.
During both of the meetings I had with these two, Melissa expressed how much she loves dramatic night time shots. I thought it was completely appropriate to work in this "time time-esque" shot right in front of Warner Castle, as Marcin and Melissa will be holding their wedding at Belhurst Castle this June! Andrew and I are so excited to celebrate with them soon!
